Salahudin and the weeping mother

There was bitter fighting between the Muslims and the Crusaders at Acre.

Once day a weeping Christian woman left the Crusaders camp and proceeded
towards that of Salahudin's. The Turkish guards arrested her but she
appealed to them in moving terms and was allowed to pass and taken to
Salahudin, the Muslim ruler and leader.

The woman saluted the Salahudin and weepingly told him how her baby had been
carried off by a Muslim soldier.

Tears stood in the eyes of Salahudin. He ordered that all of the Muslim
camps be searched immediately and the baby was recovered and returned to
it's mother.

Both the mother and baby were then escorted back to the enemies camp under
Salahudin's personal escort.
