Her rights pertaining to marriage, dower, divorce, maintenance, inheritance, ownership of property, earning of livelihood, acquisition of education, etc. have been discussed. Her role as a mother, as a wife, as a daughter and as a sister has been brought in focus. A comparative study of the rights of women in non-Muslim societies has also been made. Verses of the Qur’an, traditions of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH), Islamic law and views of the eminent scholars of Islam have been amply quoted. The book contains 23 chapters.
